After serving our country, he completed a bachelor's degree in Legal Administration and spent several years managing non-profit organizations throughout the South before finding a second calling in the cybersecurity field.</p><p>Joe married Diane, his high school sweetheart and retired Texas public school educator, joining her in Texas. He took a role in Cybersecurity leadership, rising to Director of Cybersecurity Strategy at a global tech firm.</p><p>Joe and Diane fervently believe in the power of reading and the criticality of a foundational education for all. Their belief led them to open and operate an independent bookstore in Denton in 2021.</p><p>Joe is committed to a Texas government that is accountable to its citizens to deliver and protect certain fundamental rights and freedoms:</p><ul><li><p>The right to a world-class public education</p></li><li><p>Economic conditions that enable Texans to build the life they choose; and</p></li><li><p>The freedom to enjoy these and other rights, unencumbered by government overreach.</p></li></ul>

<h2>Fighting for Our Community</h2>

<p><strong>Joe spent 20 years in the US Air Force. </strong>Joe's military journey carried him around the country and around the world. On returning from DESERT STORM in 1991, Joe was recruited by Air Force Special Operations Command, where he spent the final 9 years of his military career. In other words, he knows how to get things done in the most difficult circumstances.</p>

<h2>US Air Force Veteran</h2>

<p><strong>Joe knows what it's like to own and operate a small business in Texas. </strong>Owning and  operating a small business in Texas is not for the faint of heart. Yet that's precisely what he and his family have done since 2021. He has felt the pinch of economic decisions made at the local, state, and federal levels and somehow has managed to continue to serve the community.</p>

<h2>North Texas Business Owner</h2>

<p><strong>The key to successful Cybersecurity is effectively managing risk and that's exactly what Joe excels at. </strong>Joe's second career was in the tech industry, where he became a Director of Cybersecurity Strategy for the largest job site in the world. Joe not only directed dozens of tech professionals, he also set the strategy for managing risk for the entire company.</p>

<h2>Cybersecurity Executive</h2>

<p><strong>Perhaps Joe's greatest accomplishment was marrying Diane. </strong>Diane is a retired Texas educator, in both public and private school settings. Joe has led multiple education-related non-profit agencies, focused on pre-K programs, providing tutoring support for low-income students in low performing schools. When he tells you he cares about education, he has the record to back it up.</p>

<h2>World Class Public Education for all Texas students</h2><p>Every Texas student deserves a world class public education, and Texas is distinctly positioned to provide it.</p><p>Our Texas public school educators are doing incredible work, educating 5.5 million students with some 400,000 students graduating high school every year. All while being hamstrung by some of the lowest funding among the United States.</p><p>A public education endowment would create a permanent source of supplemental educating funding, <strong><em>without raising taxes</em></strong>!</p><p>It's time to stand with the professional educators who are carrying the burden of insufficient public school funding.</p>

<h2>Living and Doing Business in Texas should not be a luxury</h2><p>Living and doing business in Texas should be within reach for all Texans. This includes housing, food, healthcare, education, transportation, and child care.</p><p>Small businesses are the engine of the Texas economy, representing 99.8% of all businesses and employing 44.4% of the state’s workforce.*</p><p>For those Texans who want to start and operate a small business, Texas should invest in these ventures, including grants, loans, and education programs designed to optimize the likelihood of success.</p><p>* <em>Texas Small Business Report 2025</em></p>

<h2>Defend Freedoms for All Texans</h2><p>Parents and individuals — not the state — should determine the books they read, with whom they assemble, and how they express their beliefs.</p><p>I stand in defense of these and other freedoms from state or local communities who seek to impose their beliefs on all members of a community.</p>

<h2>Support our Texas Veterans</h2><p>The United States – including Texas – is free due in large measure to the sacrifices made by our US Military Veterans. As such, I will ensure Texas reaches every veteran in need of support or services.</p><p>I will work with the Texas Veterans Commission to ensure every Veteran in Texas receives the support available to them — and that they deserve.</p>
